 The third International Forum for the Aftercare of Racehorses (IFAR), held in conjunction with the European & Mediterranean Horseracing Federation’s (EMHF) General Assembly at Øvrevoll Racetrack in Oslo, Norway, concluded May 16 with presentations on topics including the challenges regulators face when it comes to aftercare, the versatility of the Thoroughbred, an aftercare toolkit, and case studies of aftercare programs in France and Greece.

The Jockey Club announced today that Delaware Park is taking advantage of The Jockey Club’s HD Grant Fund and will broadcast in HD when its racing season opens on May 4. Hawthorne Race Course was the first track to use the grant fund to upgrade its signal.

Equibase Installs Automated Tracking; Named Official Timer at Mahoning Valley and Penn National


Equibase Company has installed global positioning satellite (GPS) systems at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course and Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course and has been named the official timer at both tracks, it was announced today. Equibase also has systems in place and is the official timer at Woodbine Racetrack, Golden Gate Fields, Laurel Park, and Pimlico.
