Longtime NYRA trainer, former NYTHA president Rick Violette, Jr. passes away at 65


Longtime New York Racing Association (NYRA) horseman and former president of the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association (NYTHA) Richard Violette, Jr. passed away this morning in Florida following a lengthy illness. He was 65.

    Manny Azpurua, a thoroughbred trainer who gained national attention while racing Social Inclusion in the 2014 Preakness Stakes, has died. He was 88.
