Africa’s Richest Race Day, The Sun Met Celebrated with Mumm, reveals a shining line-up of local talent to complement this year’s theme African Luxury: Precious Metals when it returns to Kenilworth Racecourse on Saturday 26 January 2019.
The Sun Met entertainment line-up features some of the country’s top musical talent including DJ Maphorisa (@djmaphorisa) who is widely regarded for his eclectic fusion of Afropop, House and Gqom music; singer/songwriter, Lady Zamar (@l.zamar) who has won a string of awards including Song of the Year at the 2017 DStv Viewer’s Choice Awards and Best Dance Album at the 2018 SAMAs; and multiple SAMA award-winning duo, Mafikizolo (@mafikizolo_africa) who has dominated the Kwaito genre since launching their first album in 1997. After a day of indomitable horse-racing, Sun Met general access ticket-holders will receive complimentary access to the official Sun Met after-party to see all three of these impressive acts live on stage.

Other entertainment on offer at the Sun Met after-party includes sets by popular Heart FM DJs; a fashion extravaganza showcasing collections by the Sun Met’s official designers: Biji La Maison, Ole Ledimo (House of Ole), Mzukisi Mbane for Imprint ZA and Warrick Gautier; as well as the esteemed Best Dressed competition where cash and sponsor prizes will be awarded to the Best Dressed Male and Best Dressed Female at the Sun Met.
