The Cape Breeders Club (CBC) will be staging an open Stallion Services Auction on Thursday 24 May, starting at 10am am before the BSA broodmare sale at the Mistico Equestrian Centre.
Thirteen stallion services, including services to Canford Cliffs, Oratorio, Master Of My Fate, Querari, Rafeef and Vercingetorix will be offered on open auction. The rest of the stallions will be on the silent ballot bid.
Funds raised at the auction are used by the Club to benefit breeders and the racing Industry and Wendy Probert of the CBC commented: “This coming year we will be supporting the African Horse Sickness task team as well as donating to the various horse care units around the country. We are continuing with our strong drive towards groom’s education along with running more farm courses.”
CBC will also be hosting a Seminar at the Glen Carlou Wine Estate on Tuesday, 29 May, where six knowledgeable speakers, including Dr Alan Guthrie, will cover an array of interesting topics. “We are still making use of the Gr 1 Goldmine programme as well as True Nicks,” said Probert.
The Club relies solely on the magnanimity of the stallion owners and without them would not be able to carry out its duties.
