TBA South Africa
Avontuur Thoroughbred Farm’s triple G1 winning sire Oratorio, whose progeny have been firing on all cylinders in South Africa of late, made international news on Sunday, when his remarkable seven-year-old daughter Silver Wolf captured the Gyeongham Governor’s Cup at Busan.
Oratorio currently tops the National Sires Log with 28 wins for the new season and 74 places, earning a stakes of R2,390,675.
Bred in Australia, Silver Wolf made it win number 17 when she captured Sunday’s Gyeongham Governor’s Cup by a length and a quarter.
The durable mare has now won or finished second or third in 24 of her 33 starts.
Her sire Oratorio, who was Champion Sire in Italy in both 2012 and 2013, also enjoyed success in South Africa over the weekend, with his classy daughter, and East Cape Oaks runner up, Snapscan romping home to a 1.25 length win over 1600m at Durbanville on Saturday, and son Horoscope Harry winning for a second time, in just three starts, at Hollywoodbets Greyville the following day.
Oratorio also recently produced a winner in Hong Kong with Tony Millard, Ezra, whilst SAF-bred Gr1 placed Cue The Music – bred by Avontuur from the brilliant family of Val De Ra and Miss Frankel, finished 4th in a debut run in Hong Kong.
Oratorio will be represented in Saturday’s G2 Western Cape Fillies Championship by his promising 3yo daughter Athalia, a winner of three of only five starts, and his promising son Viva Rio in Friday’s Listed Racing Association Stakes.
Already sire of more than 50 stakes winners the world over, Oratorio has two lots on the upcoming Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale, and six lots on this year’s CTS Ready To Run Sale.
