Summary
The Admissions Associate is the first line of Keeneland customer service.   Admissions associates are stationed throughout Keeneland entrances (North, South, East and Horsemen’s gate) directing patrons through the ticket booths and Pass Gates, scanning pre-purchased tickets, selling general admission tickets, and handling Fast Passes. They also aid in facets (directing, answering questions, etc.) of admitting patrons to Keeneland.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Maintain and stock supplies for admissions booths; monitor ticket stock levels in the kiosks.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs; respond promptly to patron and employee complaints in a professional, tactful manner.
  • Actively contribute to the efforts of other admissions positions and departments when necessary.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Keeneland’s history, services provided and most used areas.

  • Ability to work in a sitting or standing position or enclosed space for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to perform in various weather elements including heat, cold, humidity, rain or wind.
  • Must be able and willing to relocate to other guest services positions on short notice.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate (speak, read, write) with patrons, co-workers and management to their understanding.
  • Ability to effectively deal with external and internal customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger.
  • Punctuality and regular, reliable attendance.
 
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or G.E.D. required.  Experience working in a customer-service related capacity preferred.
